Setting Up Your Custom Two-Step Opt-In Prompt

August 12, 2019 By ebbender Leave a Comment

Prompty’s Two-Step opt-in for your subscription prompt allows you to customize what the opt-in prompt says and how it looks.  By customizing the first step of the Two-Step opt-in, your business looks unique and it gives you the opportunity to explain the value of the content the subscriber will be receiving.  It is an opportunity to persuade your users to subscribe!

In this article, you will learn how to use Prompty’s prompt customization feature.

Setting Up Your Custom Prompt

First, make sure you select the radio button for the Two-Step prompt. Next, you can define the Image, Heading Text, and Opt-in message.

Here’s how the Heading Text, Opt-In Message, and Image appear in the Opt-In prompt.

Note: The opt-in prompt will appear in the middle of the browser when the trigger event has been triggered.  Please see – https://www.prompty.io/one-step-vs-two-step-opt-ins/ for more information on Trigger Events.

What happens if a user says “No, Thanks.”

If a user declines to opt-in, that is not the end of the opportunity to get the subscriber.  Prompty is automatically programmed to ask the website visitor again in 3 days, 7 day and then again 30 days when they come back to your site.

What happens if a user says “Yes, please.”

If the user opts in, that’s great, they will be shown the “second step” which is the default browser opt-in.
